We listen to a lot of books on tape, and for years my kids have listened to Patch the Pirate. As they grow into their teen years, though, we began searching for something more and I found these. My kids all love listening to them, and I do as well. They can be a bit cheesy at times, but I love all of the science thrown in to teach about Creation Science along with the Gospel. My only complaint is that each disc comes with 3 'episodes,' and so far, each story line is 2 episodes long, so the 3rd track on the CD leaves you hanging, and if you didn't purchase more than one, you won't be able to finish the story. I would've paid a little more for 1 CD with 2 full stories on it, I think. But if you buy a full series at once, you can just pop the next CD in and you're good to go!My only caution is that the characters do often find themselves in some precarious positions with some nefarious foes, very small children may find them a bit scary until they are a little older.
My kiddos love it. We didn't know what an audio adventure was before we purchased, so we were a bit skeptical. We let our kids listen to the trailer on the jonathanpark.com website and they were excited about it so we thought we would give it a try. We'll when we received the album it didn't disappoint. First off, the quality the packaging really impressed us. We're used to seeing Christian products miss the mark on presentation, but these guys have really impressed us. As far as the production quality goes, we were really impressed as well. The music, sound effects, and acting was excellent. We don't have much to compare it to, but my wife and I both agreed it was better than we expected. What we liked the most was how the stories incorporate Scripture and science into a compelling story line. The kids loved the action and the funny characters. They actually do a pretty good job with humor as well. We'll be buying the next one. make sure you read carefully. This not the whole set just one CD so it leaves you hanging. Was disappointed because my boys bought it with their own money. Am planning of getting them the other ones. Other then that they are a great series.
We have mostly Adventures in Odyessey audio sets and love them! We thought we would try this. It is a little pricey for what you get. It also leaves you on a cliffhanger....so it's ONE CD and a few stories that I do not consider a good value PLUS they leave you in the middle of a story. My children were greatly disappointed in this purcahse and we will not buy the next one to figure out the ending . The quality is not great either....not professionallly done, in my opinion.
These stories are good quality audio books. They are audio books not audio dramas.
We love this series! Great Creation science learning and adventure, that my kids (3-8yrs of age) all enjoy.
