About the Author
Gabriele Galimberti studied photography at Fondazione Studio Marangoni in Florence from 2000 to 2003. He then ran a professional photogÂraphy laboratory and a photo gallery in Florence. This book is really great. My kids (11, 9, 7, 5) have been pouring over it and asking questions ever since it arrived. The content has a clean layout with no distractions, which kids appreciate, even if they don't understand why. I expected my kids to enjoy seeing the pictures and hoped they would eventually learn to see passed the toys and into the underlying highlights of this book. It happened sooner than I expected. We were in deep by the time we got finished looking at it the first time, with this book serving as a springboard into subjects that run deeper than toy collections. Out of all the beautiful children featured in this book the one that really stole our hearts was Chiwa (Page 94). I recommend it to anyone who's looking for an easy way to open up a dialog with kids of all ages about the economics and social realities of other countries.
This concept is simple--photographs of children from all over the world with their favorite toys, no text beyond the child's first name, age and location. But there is much to see when you study and think about the photos. My 2 yr old granddaughter is fascinated, and so is every other family member who's seen Toy Stories. Highly recommended.
Got this as a gift for a friend and couldn't help but look through it beforehand.It's adorable. The pictures are crisp and interesting.The text is very readable and captivating.Would definitely recommend!
Also being a photographer, I really enjoyed the premise of this book and it will make a great discussion piece with my son once he gets older.
I have shared this with our grandchildren so they could see that many children around the world,like and play with the same kinds of toys that they own.
Love this book. The photos are great, my two year old loves to look at the kids and talk about their toys.
